A former top aide to Senator Max Baucus (D-MT) slammed former Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D-MT) and the “Netroots.” Barrett Kaiser now runs a Democratic dark money consulting group that was influential in the re-election effort for Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) in 2012. This news comes as speculation continues that former Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D-MT) may jump into the 2014 Senate race to replace Baucus.
We’ll get to that in a second, but first- here’s a couple of must-read articles just out from Roll Call.
Here’s an excerpt from the Q&A featured in the first piece:
Roll Call: How are you, governor?
Brian Schweitzer: I’m doing fine. I’m actually in Georgetown.RC: Georgetown, D.C.?
BS: No. Georgetown, D.C.? God, that places sucks. Georgetown Lake. … Come on, I don’t want that smell on me.
In the other must-read piece, Roll Call says Schweitzer is on a “charm offensive” with Team Baucus.
“He is on a charm offensive,” Montana Democratic strategist Barrett Kaiser said. “That’s good because Brian is a smart enough guy to know that he’s going to need more than the $50,000 that the out-of-state netroots are promising him.”
As for my post last week, I noted Sen. Tester’s remarks on MSNBC saying he’d “bet the farm” that Schweitzer’s running. Here’s another interesting nugget from the Roll Call piece.
“The last time Brian Schweitzer and Jon Tester spoke to each other was before Election Day,” one Montana Democratic insider said. “Jon Tester has not even received a phone call from Brian Schweitzer, so that should tell you where things are.”

This from a “former aide”….eh?
How about the FACT that BOTH of our present Senators’ voted today to keep giving away free AMESTY to all those ILLEGAL’s squatting on our soil all these years – while NOT voting for a single “get tough” CLOSE THE BORDER down amendment today…in fact, the BOTH voted NO on all three such amendments!… But, Jon Tester managed to get an Indian on some committee within this abortion of a bill !!.
I ask: ARE ANY OF OUR CALLS TO DC BEING HEARD…or, are those answering machines just one-way devices?… We are NOT getting our monies worth out of these two yehwho’s!
