This story certainly makes you wonder…maybe if the Governor here in flyover state was actually forced to drive the roads like the rest of us, he wouldn’t have vetoed infrastructure funding for Eastern Montana last legislative session.
There’s also a bill in the state legislature that would increase the speed limit and put Montana more in line with neighboring states. If Gov. Steve Bullock (D-MT) decides to veto that bill, why would it matter to him- he can just speed over the rest of us in his taxpayer-funded airplane.

Speaking of infrastructure funding, it looks as though the flyover Governor is keeping up his airspeed and flying straight ahead with his “my way or no highway” approach, as Montana Media Trackers Ron Catlett reports.
Montana Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock is finding himself increasingly isolated on plans to help overwhelmed Eastern Montana communities with much needed infrastructure spending, though it appears the governor is not backing down on his desire for a “comprehensive” bill.
Yesterday, at a hearing of the House Appropriations Committee, Bullock’s budget director Dan Villa was the only person to speak against a bill that would directly provide $55 million to Eastern Montana. Villa claimed that the bill in question was “fiscally irresponsible,” because it relies on cash instead of bonding. Villa instead promoted the governor’s $400 million “Build Montana” proposal and also implied a veto threat from the governor’s office.
Later in his testimony, Villa used a note of correction on the bill to icily imply that the governor would likely veto the bill if it got to his desk.
