Anti-Christian Bigotry in Montana Politics

Talk about timing…

Coming up today (Friday) on Voices of Montana– Montana’s only statewide radio talk show- we’ll be hearing from Dr. Mike Adams.  Dr. Adams is a criminology professor at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Just last week, according to The Daily Caller, Dr. Adams won his lawsuit against administrators who denied him a promotion because of his conservative, Christian views.

Then, just yesterday news reports reveal that the Pope spoke with President Obama about concerns over religious freedom in America.

All of this comes as radical leftists are seeking to block a successful businessman and engineer from serving as a commencement speaker at Montana Tech in Butte due to his Christian beliefs.

The Montana Standard first publicized the protest attempt:

Some faculty and students at Montana Tech plan an unprecedented boycott of the university’s spring commencement in protest of the ceremony’s featured speakers, a wealthy couple from Bozeman whose critics say have radical social and religious views.

Greg Gianforte said the speech he and his wife are planning is strictly about engineering and how to be successful.

“My wife is going to talk about her educational career as a mechanical engineer, and specifically the uniqueness of being a woman engineer and the opportunities that created in her career,” he said. “I’m also an engineer. That’s why we have such synergy with the Diggers. I want to talk about a couple of lessons I’ve learned and provide that advice to graduates to help them find satisfaction and contentment in their work.”

Gianforte started high tech company RightNow Technologies in Bozeman, Montana, creating hundreds of jobs. Why would students at a Montana engineering school want to hear from a man, an engineer, who started a billion dollar company in Montana?

This certainly appears to be nothing less than anti-Christian bigotry targeting a man now feared (because he actually created jobs) as a potential candidate for Governor years from now.

I’ve had the opportunity to hear Gianforte speak at several events, even at a Republican party dinner where he oddly enough didn’t even talk politics- he talked jobs.

The focus of his talks is probably best described in the first line of a recent profile piece by The Great Falls Tribune’s John Adams:

Bozeman technology mogul Greg Gianforte is on a mission to create more good-paying, high-tech jobs and improve Montana’s economy.

And for that, the book burning, Anti-Christian bigoted left is bringing out the knives…

The “progressive intellectuals” who proclaim THEIR supposed “tolerance” are the same “progressives” who OBJECT so strenuously to that couple’s Christian beliefs, and yet they DEMAND that those same Christians TOLERATE their “progressive” beliefs.

The problem with the “Progressive Church of Multicultural Tolerance” is their intolerance for anyone who doesn’t believe precisely as they do.
