The Strongest Case Yet for Appointing Walsh to Senate?

Print View

Ouch….MTN reporter Sanjay Talwani asks the question- what does a Montana lieutenant governor do? A bigger question appears to be- what does THIS lieutenant governor do?

By THIS Lieutenant Governor we are, of course, referring to current Lieutenant Governor John Walsh (D-MT). Walsh is one of three Democratic candidates for the US Senate.   He’s the candidate favored by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. He is also widely expected to be the fill-in Senator chosen by Gov. Steve Bullock (D-MT) to replace Max Baucus.

So what does a lieutenant governor in Montana do?  More importantly, what has this Lieutenant Governor been doing?

From KRTV.com:

Asked specifically about Walsh’s duties and whereabouts the last few months, Bullock’s office sent a list of 23 meetings and events between October 29 and November 30. Those included making eight speeches, handing out Halloween candy, and involvement with four events at three different football games.

Despite requests, Bullock staff did not supply a complete list of meetings with executive branch officials, representatives of local government or federal agencies, or with registered lobbyists.

Bullock’s staff also did not respond to a request for comment on the expectations for the job, or whether Walsh has been tasked with leading any specific initiatives.

Now this must be the best reason yet to bow to Harry Reid and hand John Walsh the Senate appointment in DC- heck, he’s apparently not doing anything in Helena anyway.

The strongest case for NOT appointing Walsh is Harry Reid might get to keep his job. That would not be good for the country nor Montana. I say let Walsh keep on doing nothing in Helena.

Former military who currently fly the democrat banner:
jean-françois kerrì
wes clark
john murtha (okay, so he’s deceased)
collin powell (don’t tell me he’s GOP)
john mccain (same thing)
lindsay graham (ditto)

….are we detecting a “progressive” pattern here?

The sound of the rocks rolling is almost deafening. The Democratic party is now faced with one of their most important tasks. They spent enough money and told enough lies to retain there Senate seat in the last election. They are now faced with the task of locking down this election to assure their control of the Senate. Hark, do I hear rumblings that we are going to inject a Rino into the primary on the other side and assure a victory even if they are defeated, it seems that there are plenty of Rinos out there for sale. How we decide who to vote for, very carefully and with much thought.
