Rasmussen’s Prediction in Rehberg v Tester Race

As I have been broadcasting and blogging live from The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada for RightOnline, the first US Senate debate between Jon Tester (D) and Denny Rehberg (R) took place in Big Sky, Montana.

I am writing this post shortly after the debate concluded, therefore no official news articles are available yet.  Judging by their news releases online, Congressman Rehberg blasted Tester for voting 95% of the time with Barack Obama, while Senator Tester went personal against Rehberg, telling the 5th generation Montanan that he isn’t a rancher.

Meanwhile, while the debate came to a close in Big Sky, I had the opportunity to sit down with nationally recognized pollster Scott Rasmussen.  I asked Rasmussen, “If you had to call it today, Rehberg-Tester, who wins?  By how much?”

Rasmussen’s response:

RASMUSSEN: If I had to call it today, I’d say Rehberg narrowly, because I think the presidential race will pull it along.  But, I have to add the big caveat that the economy is still going to be the driving force. If the economy is better all incumbents will do a little bit better.

Just astounded that this race, and the presidential one as well, are even close. Hope and Change….I’m desperately hoping for a change.
