Let me just say…there’s probably a reason that ALL of the potential 2016 presidential candidates voted against this bill: It won’t sit well with the American people. Whether it’s left or right- at least you can respect Ted Cruz and Elizabeth Warren for standing up for what they believe is right. Although, it was pretty interesting to watch the media coverage from afar. Conservatives were quick to pounce on the media narrative showing Warren as some true-to-her-principle’s hero, yet when Ted Cruz does the same thing he’s simply trying to shut the government down.
The Wall Street Journal: A RARE BIPARTISAN SUCCESS FOR CONGRESS
The phrase “bipartisan coalition” doesn’t generally come to mind when considering this year’s Congress. But this weekend brought just that, setting up a test of whether a political center could be sustained on other issues next year. The Senate passed a $1.1 trillion spending bill late Saturday night by a 56-40 vote that crisscrossed party lines, reflecting a desire by both parties to keep the government open and end Congress’s tormented year. It also pointed to some broader political dynamics that could outlast the lame-duck session.
Republican leaders in both the House—which approved the spending bill two days earlier—and Senate shepherded the bill over the objection of their disgruntled conservative wings, an assertion of power by the party establishment after years of heckling by the back benches. Among Democrats, a majority proved reluctant to follow the party’s resurgent liberals to a confrontational year-end battle. The 56 “yes” votes comprised 31 Democrats, 24 Republicans and one independent. One wild card also emerged as a potential obstacle: 2016. All the Senate’s potential presidential candidates from both parties voted against the bill.

The Hill: What the $1.1 trillion spending bill contains
The main purpose of the bill is to keep the government funded, and the so-called “cromnibus” includes 11 appropriations bill that will fund most of the government through September 2015.
It also includes a continuing resolution (CR) that funds the Department of Homeland Security through Feb. 27. This is to answer GOP critics of President Obama’s immigration executive actions, who had pushed to defund the agency.
Genevieve Wood writes for DailySignal.com: Republicans Lose Round 1 to Obama on Immigration
Well, that didn’t take long.
In the first standoff between Republican leadership and President Obama following the November elections, the GOP is showing signs it doesn’t have the fortitude to fight the good fight.
We went from House Speaker John Boehner declaring just days after the election that when it came to Obama’s executive action on immigration, “We are going to fight the president tooth and nail,” to three weeks later the House passing a completely toothless bill that declares the president’s actions “null and void” but has zero strings attached to actually make that so.
Conservative Review- Cruz & Lee: The Audacity of Principle (h/t Michelle Malkin)
What upsets a U.S. Senator more than anything? If you guessed the president infringing on the Senate’s Article I Constitutional authority you are wrong. If you guessed “weekend work,” you are correct. On Friday, as the pork-filled Cromnibus that funded Obama’s executive amnesty landed in the Senate, conservatives filled the void left by GOP leaders whose only strategy was unconditional surrender. Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) denied Harry Reid (D-NV) his request to pass the bill expeditiously without having to take tough votes on critical amendments. In order to put Democrats on record defending the president’s unconstitutional actions, Cruz, Lee and several other conservatives demanded a vote on stripping funds for amnesty from the bill. Apparently this came as a surprise to Democrats and liberal Republicans, despite Cruz and Lee making their intent known in advance. – See more at: https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2014/12/the-audacity-of-principle#sthash.YyaSYUua.dpuf

Perhaps the “only noise” they can/will hear is when we vote from our rooftops in each and everyone of “their” neighborhoods!
It is high time for “bonehead #1” to be removed from any leadership role in the House; and #2 to suffer the same fate up in the Senate, eh?.. New hands are dearly needed on our steering wheel – new thought patterns are needed within those attached heads (once the light of day is allowed to impact eyes so deeply buried in someone’s rectum)!
With the China, Russia, So Africa, BRICS actions now coming to light vs our US Dollar status…just what type of leaders do we truly need when our economy is in the dumpster? These “puppy dogs” we now have are NOT suited, in my book!
