An historic election came to a close in Colorado, with the people rising up and voting to recall two Democratic state legislators who supported gun control legislation this past session.
You could call it a major victory, not only for the 2nd Amendment, but also for “Victor the Plumber.”

Senate President John Morse is a bitter, angry man. Lashing out at the organizer of the recall of his fellow Democratic Senator Angela Giron on MSNBC, Morse falsely asserted that the organizer in question — Victor Head — was an “unemployed plumber who all of the sudden had $20,000 to spend.”
In fact, Victor owns a family plumbing business with his brother Adam, which he took over when his father was diagnosed with cancer. Just like the plumbing business, Victor’s group seeking to recall Giron – Pueblo Freedom and Rights – is a family affair as well.

An epic national debate over gun rights in Colorado on Tuesday saw two Democratic state senators ousted for their support for stricter laws, a “ready, aim, fired” message intended to stop other politicians for pushing for firearms restrictions. Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron will be replaced in office with Republican candidates who petitioned onto the recall ballot.
Party insiders always said Giron’s race was the harder one. Although her district is heavily Democratic, Pueblo is a blue-collar union town. Morse’s district included Manitou Springs and a portion of Colorado Springs — and more liberals.

Now, on their opinion page- The Denver Post editorial board begs the public to simply “move on.”
I’d imagine the folks in Colorado will “move on,” on to the next one- something that should be very concerning to the national aspirations of Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D-CO).
It’s also interesting to note that in The Denver Post coverage, they mention money spent by the NRA, but failed to point out the hundreds of thousands of dollars pumped into Colorado by NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg and Obama Campaign Manager (and former Chief of Staff to Democratic Montana Senator Max Baucus) Jim Messina.

You may recall my prior post where I spoke with Michelle Malkin just under a couple weeks ago about the significance of the recall elections in Colorado:
MALKIN: “The recall that we have coming up on September the 10th over the gun grabbing, I think, is ground zero. This is a shot that will be heard round the world one way or the other. The left knows it, they’re pouring hundreds of thousand sof dollars into this campaign. ‘Nanny’ Bloomberg just dumped $350,000 last week. And the hard scrabble ragtag group of ordinary citizens in Colorado Springs, where I live, and Pueblo where there is the 2nd recall, have really been doing this all on their own.”
The latest polls that were publicized in The Denver Post show that this has hurt Gov Hickenlooper (D-CO), but it behooves the Republican party at both the state and national level to leverage that and…have real consequences for those actions.
