An explosive New York Times report is out today detailing the perks available to lawmakers under Obamacare- the takeaway:

Here’s the summary from Fox News First:

Poll: 7 percent say ObamaCare working well – A new CBS News poll shows President Obama’s job approval rating dropped to 37 percent, the lowest of his presidency – a 9-point drop since October.  The poll also found Americans’ approval of ObamaCare has dropped to 31 percent, the lowest rating ever in the poll. Just 7 percent of respondents said the president’s health law is working well.

Perk-packed version of ObamaCare for Congress – Members of Congress may have to enroll in ObamaCare, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the same smashed system ordinary Americans are facing.  NYT details the perk-puffed version of ObamaCare for Congress: “…access to ‘in-person support sessions’ …a special Blue Cross and Blue Shield website for members of Congress and…. a ‘dedicated congressional health insurance plan assistance line’…Lawmakers can select from 112 options offered in the ‘gold tier’ of the District of Columbia exchange, far more than are available to most of their constituents.”

Politico’s Playbook has this:

DETONATING – N.Y. Times 1-col. lead, “PERKS EASE WAY IN HEALTH PLANS FOR LAWMAKERS: EXCHANGE ENROLLMENT — More Options and Extra Help as Voters Face a Balky Website,” by Robert Pear: “‘[I]n-person support sessions’ [are] being conducted at the Capitol and congressional office buildings by the local exchange and four major insurers. … Blue Cross and Blue Shield [has a special] website for members of Congress and … a special toll-free telephone number — a ‘dedicated congressional health insurance plan assistance line.’ … If lawmakers have questions about Aetna plan benefits and provider networks, they can call a special phone number that provides ‘member services for members of Congress and staff. … It is much easier [than on Healthcare.gov] for members of Congress and their aides to see and compare their options on websites run by the Senate, the House and the local exchange.

“Lawmakers can select from 112 options offered in the ‘gold tier’ of the [D.C.] exchange, far more than are available to most of their constituents. … Some [congressional aides] are confused by the large number of options. When they sign up for a plan online, they get no confirmation, so they are apprehensive. In addition, the website for the local exchange does not display the government contribution for members of Congress and their aides.” http://goo.gl/gQrrjP

–MIKA BRZEZINSKI, on “Morning Joe”: “That kinda hurts right now. … The double standard … It’s red meat.”

***By the way- as an update to this story- our US Senators apparently have 112 options to purchase health care according to the NY Times.  So how does that compare to Montanans choices?  Steve Bentley with the Avitus Group tells me that of the 3 companies to choose from, Montanans have 25 options.

Article 1, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution states:

“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”

Just that one paragraph should be used as a hammer to send obamacare back to the Supreme Court to have the whole bucket of manure flushed because it is unConstitutional.

….and that includes any “special dispensation” from King Putt in the White House.
